IFEDA National Conference – Non-members

for those of you not too far away from Birmingham, as a fire protection company, you may find something of interest in IFEDA’s conference presentations which will take place on Saturday, 13:30 15th October at The Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club Nr Birmingham

There is no charge to attend the talks, but should you wish to join us for the networking buffet lunch there will be a small charge of £15 + vat.  The lunch will start at 12:30

This year our conference talks will include:-

A representative from Thornton & Lowe Tender Writing & Bid Management Services will give a presentation on aspects of tendering i.e. How to respond to a typical tender, what is the writer looking for, how you can give your tender replies more chance of success etc. This will be a longer presentation of 45 – 60 minutes. *

Justin Hargreaves from Hilti will give a presentation on aspects of fire-stopping. Are there new or possible business opportunities for you in this area of Fire Safety?

BAFE’s Chief Executive will present all the latest from BAFE and their plans for the future, and BAFE’s marketing manager, Frazer, will also be on hand to discuss any points or issues you may have.

As members of BAFE come and find out how your money/subscription is being used.

The evening will consist of networking, Dinner (having been to a tasting session I can highly commend the fare), table magic, casino night and for us youngsters there is a disco available too (despite protests the Time-Warp and YMCA will be played). This is also open to non-members but obviously charge will apply – do come along and discover the social side of IFEDA

To attend any of the above please contact Lidia in the first instance via info@ifeda.org

GOLF: For the golfers amongst us Colin Payne is arranging tee off times and a golf completion circa 13:00 on Friday 14th. If you would like to take part, please contact him direct via colin@westfire.co.uk  AGAIN non-members are welcome but there are green fees.

  • * Due to training copyright issues this power-point presentation will not be available after the event.

Full extinguisher courses : A reminder

Please note, the course is a theory intensive course and the examination is a closed book examination, hence the reason the manual is sent out in advance. This is to give the candidate time for background reading.    It is also highly recommended that the candidate should have worked with extinguishers before attending the course as stated in BS5306-3 (annex A) “A competent person is one who has undergone an initial programme of training which includes “on the job” experience and attendance of a training course, followed by the successful completion of an examination…..”

Dry Riser Course

There will be an extra one day dry riser course:-

Venue                                   Date
