Fire Blankets – Safety Recall

Please be aware that following a RAPEX notice in the Netherlands (a Europe wide product safety alerting scheme) and a subsequent restriction on the sale of all fire blankets tested to BS1869 : 1997 we have been advised by UTC (Chubb) that they have withdrawn two of their fire blankets from sale in the UK. They are branded products from Thomas Glover and Kidde Safety Europe. The products can be seen on the attached notices.

IFEDA Refresher courses Belfast & Glasgow

Please be advised that IFEDA has the following one day extinguisher refresher courses coming up in Glasgow and Belfast:

  • Glasgow – Thursday 17th September
  • Belfast – Wednesday 2nd December (please note there are only two places left on this course)

BS5306-3 requires that extinguisher certificates are renewed every three years.

IFEDA is one of the three named examination bodies in BS5306-3 annex A and as such our certificates can be used against BAFE scheme SP101/ST104 – the course is also accredited by CPD.
